GREEK MYTHOLOGY
This year we will be studying Greek Mythology. In February, we will participate in the National Mythology Exam; students can earn a gold, silver, or bronze medal depending on their test scores.

STOCK MARKET GAME
Second semester, we will play the Stock Market Game. Students will form teams of 3 or 4 members and will see who can develop the most profitable portfolio.

UAB EGG DROP COMPETITION
In the spring, we will participate in UAB's Egg Drop competition, sponsored by the school of engineering. Students will build contraptions to protect their eggs when dropped from the pedistal of Vulcan. Which eggs will survive???

NASHVILLE TRIP
Our big trip is the trip to Nashville, TN. We visit the Parthenon, the Tennessee State Museum, and the Hermitage during this marathon day.

PAPER ROLLER
COASTERS
Second semester, we will work on paper roller coasters designed using a mythology theme.

SPHERO
A new addition to our curriculum will be programming with Sphero. We will be working with these amazing little robot balls to learn how to code.
